Engineer I, II, III, IV - Transmission Planning
Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) is seeking Engineers I, II, III, and IV for Transmission Planning at their Columbus General Office. This role involves supporting operations and maintenance, conducting performance analysis, and assisting in transmission planning activities to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the NPPD Transmission System.

Responsibilities
Provides daily support for Operations, Maintenance, trending system performance and initiating actions to restore/improve system performance and reliability, troubleshooting off-normal system conditions, failure and root cause analysis, evaluating proposed configuration changes, recommendations to maintain asset value, and coordinating maintenance-related projects
Assists in all areas of delivery analysis, with specific focus on power system analysis of the high voltage transmission system
Development of future facility plans for the NPPD Transmission System
Coordination of transmission planning activities with Southwest Power Pool
Interconnection studies for new generation and load
Development of computer models for the NPPD Transmission System
Operational study support for Transmission System Control
Documentation of compliance with NERC Reliability Standards
Supporting the cost effective and reliable development of the NPPD Transmission System
Performs tasks of limited and specific scope under the direction of experienced personnel
Plans and conducts detailed phases of work in support of multiple assignments as well as managing assignments of moderate scope
Performs detailed development, planning, and implementation of numerous concurrent assignments of moderate scope
Plans and conducts detailed phases of work in support of assignments of moderate scope, including document and database updates, as well as engineering technical support
Activities and associated skills which are required to analyze the technical and economic feasibility of new construction projects, modifications to existing systems or equipment, or changes in operation or maintenance of existing systems or equipment
Activities and associated skills which are required to design and implement new construction projects or modifications to existing equipment or systems
Activities and associated skills which are required to provide technical support to the operation and maintenance of existing equipment or systems

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited university or college is required, or Professional Engineering (PE) License and bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a non-ABET accredited school is required
