Responsibilities

Develop technical proposals and application‑specific system recommendations using customer data and system requirements
Interpret engineering drawings, system parameters, and specifications to determine proper blower/fan sizing and equipment selection
Perform preliminary engineering calculations related to airflow, static pressure, horsepower requirements, and performance matching
Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to confirm feasibility of custom or modified product solutions
Conduct detailed application discussions with customers and OEM engineers to understand system constraints, process requirements, and performance goals
Prepare formal quotations including technical attachments, system performance data, dimensional drawings, and equipment configurations
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for installed systems, recommending improvements, upgrades, or optimization changes
Review competitor specifications and identify differentiating features, technical advantages, and engineering value
Log technical feedback into CRM for continuous improvement and product development insights
Support customers in equipment startup, performance verification, and system integration (remote guidance)
Assist in refining internal technical documentation, application guides, and engineering resources
Train internal team members on blower/fan technology, system behavior, application engineering, and best practices
Maintain relationships with OEMs, distributors, national accounts, and industrial clients by providing high‑competence technical support
Process sales orders and ensure technical accuracy before release to production
Occasionally travel for industry events, customer visits, or onsite technical assessments

Required

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
Familiarity with blower/fan performance curves (CFM, static pressure, efficiency, horsepower, noise ratings, etc.)
Understanding of basic engineering concepts: fluid dynamics, airflow behavior, system resistance, pipe/duct sizing, and operating‑point analysis
Comfortable discussing system design with engineers, plant managers, maintenance teams, and OEM integrators
Ability to assess customer applications such as drying, cooling, aeration, vacuum, conveying, and air‑knife design
Skilled at translating technical language for non‑technical users
Strong analytical reasoning—root‑cause thinking, troubleshooting, and proposing engineering‑based solutions
Proficiency with CRM systems, quoting tools, and technical documentation
AutoCAD proficiency is a major plus (for layout review, modification, and application modeling)
Proven success in a sales or technical sales position
Mechanical aptitude or technical background required
High school diploma or GED required
Drafting experience

Preferred

Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) strongly preferred but not required
Industrial motor & electrical experience
Experience supporting OEM, distributor, or industrial customers
Experience with industrial equipment, rotating machinery, or blower/fan systems
CAD modeling experience
