Process Engineer-Materials
Deringer Ney is seeking a Process Engineer - Materials who will be responsible for ensuring quality in Materials Manufacturing processes. The role involves optimizing processes, translating requirements into documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Responsible for understanding equipment capability, and if process may be used to achieve a particular engineering aim
Must understand or be willing to learn the mechanical working of, and control systems used in, a variety of thermal and mechanical processing equipment including furnaces, rolling mills, wire drawing machines, etc
Responsible for optimizing existing processes. Evaluate processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement
Work closely with maintenance personnel and external contractors to maximize quality and production
Procure quotes for new equipment as required
Must translate materials processing requirements into quality documentation or bills of materials/routings in an ERP system as required
Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Provide support in root cause analysis for customer complaints (8D’S)
Lead projects for continuous improvement for the assigned KPI’S (OTD, Scrap reduction, efficiency)
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of materials science, particularly metallurgy
At least 5 years of experience as a process engineer in similar industry (materials manufacturing)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
Experience with statistical analysis and design of experiments (DOE) techniques
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test results
BS in materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineer with a concentration in Materials Science, or equivalent industrial experience
Preferred
Experience with precious metals and their applications is a plus
Professional certification in Six Sigma (at least green belt), and/or lean manufacturing are preferred
Should be experienced in Microsoft Office products, ERP systems (Made2Manage preferred), and statistical analysis software
