Responsibilities

Provide expertise in the installation, repair and maintenance of building access control, intrusion, video, and intercom devices. Driving university owned vehicles to job sites will be required for this position. Maintain acceptable driver rating as established in Policy UTS157
Install, maintain, repair, and test data cable and wiring, electronic door locks, access card readers, door position switches, requests to exit detectors, CCTV cameras and other security systems related to hardware
Perform in field testing of the installed hardware and resolve hardware failures quickly and efficiently
Support systems preventative maintenance programs to ensure reliable and efficient operations
Collaborate with campus police, building owners and campus management for installation and maintenance projects
May assist with time and material estimates and on-the-job training
Perform other related functions as assigned

Required

2+ years' experience installing commercial, integrated access control and security systems
Understanding of physical access control system components
Understanding of security camera installation best practices
Experience with and understanding of networked video management systems
Ability to read/understand a design construction document
Must be able to use hand tools, power tools in support of security and CCTV installations
Experience with Microsoft based tools, such as word, excel, outlook and teams
High school diploma or state-recognized GED
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship
This position requires you to maintain internet service and a mobile phone with voice and data plans to be used when required for work
Driving Required: This job requires a class 'C' operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence

Preferred

Associate degree in electronics or related field
3+ years' experience installing commercial fire alarm and integrated security systems
VMS certifications such as Milestone, Omnicast, Avigilon
PACS software certifications such as Genetec, Lenel/S2, CCure
Relevant hardware certifications such as Axis, Assa Abloy, HID
