Automation Engineering Intern

They are seeking an Automation Engineering Intern to support the Project Team at their Newport manufacturing site, focusing on safety, automation system validation, and equipment commissioning.

Responsibilities
Serve as a safety role model; promote a high level of safety awareness; adhere to and support the continuous improvement of all safety practices and procedures
Assist in conversion of HMI system to Ignition Software
Work on database for historical data retrieval
Participate in automation system validation
Assist with commissioning and validation of new equipment
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a Electrical, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Rising Junior or Senior)
Strong time management skills
The candidate must have valid unrestricted employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred
Prior experience as an intern or co-op in a technical engineering environment
Familiar with HMi / PLC systems
Familiar with Ignition HMI Software
