Entry, Mid LevelMasTec Communications Group is a leading national infrastructure construction company operating throughout the United States. They are seeking a full-time Designer/Fielder to support a large-scale project, focusing on on-site engineering and cost-efficient gas network route design.

Responsibilities
Perform on-site engineering of any proposed work. Analyze local and wide area systems, and develop most cost efficient Gas network route design in accordance with customer specifications and guidelines
Produce high quality, constructible Engineering Work Order (“EWO”) packages for Atlanta Gas and Light (AGL) permitting
Read and understand road prints, utility maps, and as-builts to identify conflicts with existing facilities
Collaborate with any necessary vendor, as well as internal GIS and CAD teams to produce all required documentation for application packages
Follow very specific and detailed procedures already implemented while remaining flexible enough to readily adapt to changing standards and procedures without notice
Coordinate with project team for forecasting, scheduling, resources management, and quality assurance
Review project deliverables for accuracy and apprise project management team of risks, issues, and recommended mitigations
Work in tandem with various managers across the project to identify Local permitting requirements
Engineering design is defined as the method that engineers use to recognize and solve problems. It is an extensive and flexible approach to problem-solving and provides the necessary information needed regarding every step of the process. An engineering design is a collaborative effort of the team to identify problems underlying a process and find out ways to solve them
Qualification
Required
Sound OSP engineering experience with natural gas service and transmission - Knowledge of engineering principles within OSP job related functional area including general practices, procedures and industry standards
Familiar with legal requirements as defined by the municipal, state and federal laws and regulations
Knowledge of natural gas permitting all OSP environments
Knowledge of engineering tools including City/ county GIS system, AutoCAD, or any similar GIS/KMZ platforms
Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Google Sheets and Google Drive
Possess STRONG communication & PEOPLE skills
Strong language skills are required, both oral & written
Show a “sense of urgency” to get the job done to meet all due dates
Follow-up with our customer and provide a status of any and all assigned work
Proven ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels: from team members to executive management
Qualify on pre-employment screening
Must pass a drug test
Obtain satisfactory results from a background/employment history investigation and drug screening
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field is preferred, OR Gas Engineering, or Drafting completed courses and diploma from a technical school or community college
