Responsibilities

Directs and coordinates related craft activities for assigned workstation

Develops, reviews, and maintains construction plans, schedules, budgets and other essential records

Can read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and other technical guidance documentation

Ensures material and labor resources necessary to accomplish tasks are readily available

Maintains work schedules; works overtime as needed to minimize project delay

Meets with other members of production management to coordinate craft efforts

Optimizes craft activities to produce a high-quality work product consistent with Company standards

Trains and motivates workforce to result in high levels of productivity

Addresses daily personnel, equipment and facility issues; recommends viable solutions and remedial actions

Confers with other supervisors on hires, discharges, promotions or transfers of personnel

Required

At least seven (7) years shipbuilding or five (5) years of continuous Company experience in a similar position

Possesses in-depth knowledge of craft-specific processes and techniques

Well-organized supervisor with directly applicable experience in resource planning and scheduling

Works well with other craft supervisors

Exhibits high energy levels and maintains a good attitude

Has good basic knowledge of shipbuilding/repair activities
