2+ years expThe University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their Payroll Shared Services Team. This role involves supporting payroll operations across multiple campuses, handling employee inquiries, processing payroll tasks, and maintaining payroll data accuracy.

Responsibilities
Be the first line of support for the Payroll Shared Services resource account, responding to a wide range of employee inquiries—from timesheet troubleshooting to missing direct deposits
Use your judgment to know when to escalate issues and where to route non payroll questions
Process biweekly monthly payrolls accurately and on schedule, including reviewing payroll and Time & Labor reports and assisting departments during processing weeks
Handle off cycle payroll tasks, such as off cycle payments, overpayment calculations, Marketplace reconciliations, and manual check processing
Enter and maintain payroll and deduction data, ensuring accuracy and completeness while managing documents through imaging workflows
Work ACH returns, including communicating with employees and processing related vouchers
Support the larger University Shared Services team through other payroll related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
Strong attention to detail and problem solving abilities
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a deadline driven environment
Preferred
Experience in payroll, finance, or HR systems is a plus
