Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and interpret financial and participant data of Form 5500 filers, including both employee benefit plans and direct filing entities
Prepare, review, and electronically file Form 5500s, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal tax laws and regulations, including ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code, to ensure ongoing compliance
Gather, review, and reconcile plan data and documentation, coordinating with auditors during the annual plan audit process for specific types of employee benefit plans
Serve as a point of contact for clients and audit teams, providing clear communication and guidance to ensure timely review and filing of forms in accordance with statutory deadlines
Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Required

Minimum two years of recent, relevant experience in employee benefit plan compliance, tax or audit
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; active pursuit of CPA license or EA certification preferred
Solid understanding of ERISA and IRS regulations related to employee benefit plans
Skills include exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills and proficiency with tax preparation software are critical for success in this role

Preferred

Experience with or willingness to learn Alteryx Designer to build, modify, and run workflows
