Project Engineer, DCCD: AMER Construction
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. The Data Center Project Engineer will manage communication and coordination among contractors and stakeholders, oversee design changes and project management software updates, and support the onsite construction management team to ensure timely and high-quality data center construction.

Responsibilities
Establishing communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams. Example includes sending out region wide changes to construction trailer setup, COVID-19 testing procedures, or location to access documents
Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFI’s (requests for information), and change orders and dashboard and track this information for regional leadership review. Include tracking status of priority and due dates
Requesting and reviewing MOPs (Method of Procedure) for proper detail, necessity, and risk
Onboarding new vendors for badging and orientation
Updating project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents
Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site
Compiling and storing construction data from vendors
Managing checklist including various checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality
Manage the owners side RFI, submittal and change management processes related to data center builds
Help to ensure monthly Billing and Pay Applications are correct
Help to manage and implement new processes as required
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of mission critical systems (data centers, hospitals, power plants, military facilities, etc.)
Experience in vendor negotiation and management for data center or upgrade construction contracts
Experience working in a data center or mission critical facility (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science +2 Years of experience OR 7+ years of related construction management experience in lieu of a degree
Preferred
Knowledge of mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations including but not limited to CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, storage tanks, chemical systems, heat exchangers, piping systems, pumps, valves, duct systems, fans, or dampers
Experience in construction or project management
Experience in data center engineering or operations
