Responsibilities
Provide telecommunications systems design documentation for advanced facilities
Document and model design information within Revit and occasionally AutoCAD
Create fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines
Coordinate and produce traditional 2D construction drawings as required
Design Outside Plant (OSP) and inter/intra-building backbone distribution systems
Create communication room layouts, rack elevations, wired & wireless device plans and cable schedules
Lead small portions of design with oversight and coordination with the discipline lead
Complete designs and calculations in accordance with NEC, TIA, and other industry standards
Qualification
Required
Two-year technical degree or four-year non-technical degree
At least 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications design and construction industry
Knowledge and application of BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Services International) design practices
Knowledge & application of NFPA 70 (NEC) as applicable to telecommunications design requirements
Knowledge & application of Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) standards
Experience leading telecommunications design team
Knowledge of design and construction specifications
Experience estimating and scheduling small to medium sized projects
Preferred
Associates or Bachelor's degree
At least 3 years of telecommunications design experience for semiconductor, data center, or advanced manufacturing facilities
Project management experience
Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom and audio visual systems
Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems
Knowledge of control systems and network topology
One of more of the following certifications RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer), DCDC (Data Center Design Consultant), OSP (Outside Plant) or RTPM (Registered Telecommunications Project Manager)
