Rotational Project Manager I
Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site, focusing on national security and high-hazard experimentation. The Rotational Project Manager I will participate in a two-year rotational program, gaining experience in various infrastructure projects and supporting project managers in planning, executing, and monitoring project activities.

Responsibilities
Project Manager I rotational assignments may be within any of the Infrastructure Directorates: Enterprise Infrastructure Programs (EIP), Project Planning & Delivery (PP&D), Engineering, Construction, Maintenance & Critical Site Infrastructure, and Essential Site Services
Under direct supervision of project manager in support of one or more projects
Perform work of limited scope and basic complexity, generally in support of more senior professionals in one or more small projects (- May participate in all aspects of the project(s) over the entire lifecycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing)
Coordinate work efforts through interaction with peers, project leaders, and supervisor
Provide technical and administrative assistance to assigned project managers
May assist in the preparation of project plans, timelines, performance measures and budgets
Use MSTS project management processes, techniques, and tools
Temporary assignments may be outside field of project management providing expanded company exposure and unique experiences such as:
Manage various infrastructure projects including but not limited to high voltage power, water and building projects
Manage projects comprised of multidisciplinary union craft
Create ROM Estimates for small construction projects
Report and present project performance using Earned Value Management
Contribute to development of solutions to resolve issues
Proactively develop and implement strategies to identify and mitigate project risk
Work with team members and stakeholders having differing needs and expectations to achieve project objectives
Proactively identify program problems, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
Develop and propose solutions that resolve challenges and enable continuous improvement
Contribute to and participate in planning and reporting activities
Work alongside engineers/project managers to develop, review, and approve drawings/projects
Coordinate between multiple disciplines (engineering, program, maintenance…) to continue project success
Develop project artifacts and mature a project to be ready for execution
Analyze budgets, scopes and schedules
Perform other duties assigned by Management
Qualification
Required
US Citizenship is required for all positions
Bachelor's degree in a business related field or equivalent training and experience
Previous project management experience and responsibilities may be helpful
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Evaluates alternatives and identifies solutions using systematic, multi-step approaches
Collaboration: Facilitates discussion and resolves conflicts within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) and with stakeholders. Established trust among IPT members. Builds and uses cross-functional relationships to accomplish tasks. Establishes and manages small IPTs (<10 people). Maintains and effectively leads the IPT. Achieves customer satisfaction. Seeks advice from more senior project managers
Decision-Making: Demonstrates effective decision-making skills, including knowledge of how and when to escalate issues to higher levels. Analyzes the risks and future impact of decisions
The initial work location will be the North Las Vegas Facility during New Hire Orientation. Rotation work locations will vary and will include the Nevada National Security Site and the North Las Vegas Facility
Work schedule is typically 4/10s Monday through Thursday, but will change based on rotation assignment
Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing
Must possess a valid driver's license
Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘Identity, Credential, and Access Management,' and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.'
Preferred
Preferred Bachelor's degree in the following fields: Project Management, Construction Management, Business Management, Facility Management, Others on a case basis
