Responsibilities

Serve as a professional information technology (IT) specialist providing a wide range of IT services tailored to support architecture development, software development, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities for cyberspace systems
Provide advanced knowledge and skill in the development, use and sustainment of IT systems and is considered an advanced IT user

Required

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
This position is designated by the Air Force as a testing designated position under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program and is subject to random drug testing
Knowledge of IT systems analysis and applications software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods and principles, the feasibility of proposed new systems and applications software projects; and to design, write, test, debug, and maintain information systems and applications software and ensure successful integration with existing and anticipated infrastructure in the cyber weapon system environment
Knowledge of operational activities (such as special operations, personnel recovery, airlift, air support), weapon systems, and command, control, and mission process, systems, and applications
Knowledge of IT management information systems and applications software technology to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system, and applications software programs and to measure system performance, evaluate risk, and/or extend weapon system capabilities to support organizational business processes and operations
Knowledge of IT management information systems requirements and application software development techniques required in carrying out project assignments of considerable difficulty and with little specificity regarding approach to be followed
Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization
Employee must meet appropriate certification requirements IAW the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) no later than 24 months after accepting this position
This position requires information assurance (IA) work as an additional duty. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the recipient of this additional duty must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in the reassignment of this additional duty to another employee within the organization
