Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily inspection activities across multiple job sites within the Central Iowa region
Conduct and oversee inspections for high‑pressure distribution, transmission, and steel pipeline projects
Review technical documents including drawings, engineering specifications, welding procedures, and project standards
Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to inspection staff, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to procedures
Work closely with contractors, engineers, and project leadership to resolve field issues in real time
Monitor work for compliance with safety regulations, construction codes, and company/industry standards
Document inspection findings, non‑conformances, corrective actions, and site conditions clearly and accurately
Ensure timely communication and reporting to project stakeholders and management
Champion a strong safety culture and enforce safety protocols across all activities
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or relevant certifications a plus
Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or management experience in inspection or utility construction
Extensive field experience in high‑pressure distribution, transmission, or steel pipeline work
Strong understanding of utility construction, welding inspection, pipeline systems, and QA/QC practices
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, maps, and technical documentation
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to work independently while effectively leading and coordinating field teams
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and traveling throughout the Cedar Rapids and Central Iowa area
