Assistant Director of Community Housing Programs

3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic is a community-based agency providing youth in the Bayview Hunters Point with medical and behavioral health services. The Assistant Director of Community Housing Programs oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of all Housing Programs, ensuring effective and coordinated service for young people served.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and oversight to all housing programs, including the TAY Navigation Center and other future housing programs
Provide leadership and coordination of services throughout agency
Hire, train, and supervise Program and Case Managers
Maintain a creative, team building, cooperative approach to job performance and seek to bring a constructive, problem-solving orientation to all tasks
Identify the training and professional development needs of program staff
Design and implement transition plans in absence of Program and Case Managers, including equitably distributing/assigning caseloads across the team
Oversee the actualization of goals and objectives for programs in line with the mission of the agency
Oversee program development and design, implementation of enhancements
Participate in strategic planning for the ongoing development of services
Exercise discretion and professional judgment at all times keeping with the responsibilities carried personally and by the agency for the care and welfare of the youth we serve
Facilitate consistent standards for client centered care and position outcomes for youth within 3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic programs
Embodies trauma-informed leadership principles: Manages work relationships, workload, and organizational change, maintains health; is self-aware and regulates emotions to be present for and responsive to others; is reflective and thoughtful when faced with complex, uncertain or ambiguous situations; motivates through relational rather than authority-based approaches
In coordination with the Director of Housing, oversee budgets, data collection and tracking, contract requirements and program outcomes for all assigned programs
Supports the annual budget planning cycle
Ensure appropriate data collection and tracking; ensure adherence to internal agency policies and procedures
Participate in the larger homeless youth community; represent agency in community
Provide leadership and advocacy in relations with local state and federal public entities and community-based organizations to educate the community about needs for homeless youth
Establish and maintain effective relationships with community partners and stakeholders to improve the delivery of Housing Services
Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and appearance at all times

Required

Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field strongly preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
A minimum of 3 years of management and supervisory experience
Experience overseeing program design and development, implementation and operations, project integration and management across multiple agency sites, staff supervision and training and budget management
Experience managing residential and/or housing programs for youth
Ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver, and reposition 25 lbs
Ability to reach, bend and walk
Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 (except for candidates with valid medical and/or religious exemptions)
This position requires a valid California driver's license, personal vehicle, proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage, and the ability to drive for work
Must be available to work outside of regular business hours on occasion
