Transportation Project Engineer

CES Consultants, Inc. is a fast-growing civil infrastructure engineering firm, and they are seeking a Transportation Project Engineer. This role is responsible for delivering roadway and multimodal design projects from concept through final design, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and collaborating across disciplines to produce high-quality transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate experience of delivering roadway and multimodal projects from concept through final design
Familiar with FDOT Platform such as Standard Plans of Roadway Construction, Florida Design Manual, Specifications, and Florida Greenbook
Prepare technical reports or sections of larger reports to obtain approval from FDOT, Counties, and municipalities
Prepare roadway plans, profiles, cross sections, typical sections, and geometric design
Develop Traffic Control Plans, signing & pavement marking, and construction phasing concepts
Research, collect, and review data for transportation-related projects and stormwater management projects
Utilize specialized computer software to assist with the analysis, design, and plan production for new transportation systems or parts of systems, such as highways, streets, roadways, stormwater management, and utility design

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
4 to 8 years of work experience in Transportation Engineering and familiar with storm water management
Complete technical assignments that include calculations, design analysis, detailed cost estimates, specifications, permitting, and cross-referencing other design disciplines including drainage, lighting, traffic signals, utilities, and landscaping to be consistent with the roadway design project
Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to team development
Proficiency in Civil 3D and (MicroStation / Open Roads Designer) is a plus
Practical design applications
Working knowledge of AASHTO, FDOT, Minimum City Standards or similar agency standards
Experience with FDOT or other state DOT projects
Construction or post-design support experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders
Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative
Perform additional project controls related duties as required
Able to think outside the box by addressing critical design issues or client requests

Preferred

Professional Engineer or ability to obtain one in 6 months to a 1-year time
Familiar with FDOT Platform such as PSEE, AASHTOWARE, and LRE
