Power System Operations Engineer I
Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) manages the electricity superhighway in the Central U.S. and is seeking a Power System Operations Engineer I to be part of their Real Time Operations group, responsible for maintaining the accuracy and availability of the Energy Management Systems (EMS) and participating in operational projects.

Responsibilities
Train and hone skills until qualified for a shift position
Maintain the accuracy and availability of the Energy Management Systems (EMS)
Monitor inputs from ICCP, SCADA into the State Estimator
Obtain accurate contingency analysis study results
Provide study results that assist in making MISO the most reliable, value-creating RTO
Participate in projects that lead the way for the operations of the future
Qualification
Required
At least a Bachelor's degree in any of the following: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology
The ability and willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule
Preferred
Experience in Utility, transmission operations, real-time operations, or a related field
Previous Energy Management System (EMS) experience
Transient/Voltage stability experience
Programming Experience in C, C++, VBA, Perl, Python
