HR Specialist - Leave Administration (39120)

The HR Specialist – Leave Administration is responsible for administering and coordinating all employee leave and accommodation programs in compliance with regulations, serving as the primary point of contact for leave-related matters.

Responsibilities
Administer and coordinate all employee leave and accommodation programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for leave-related matters, including FMLA, Washington Paid Family & Medical Leave, ADA accommodations, Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act requirements, workers’ compensation, and short- and long-term disability plans
Partner closely with employees, managers, and HR leadership to manage the full leave lifecycle—from initial request and eligibility determination through documentation, communication, and return-to-work coordination
Ensure accurate recordkeeping and maintain strict confidentiality of medical information
Support policy development to ensure ongoing compliance and provide guidance on the interaction between leave laws and paid time off or disability benefits
Contribute to general HR operations and support as capacity allows
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field
Two years of human resources experience
Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted
