Intern - Research and Development

The Intern – Research and Development position involves conducting research and development testing to support new product development and enhancements, adhering to industry standards and protocols.
Manufacturing

Responsibilities

Own and drive R&D project(s) for either continuous improvement within the Mesa manufacturing facility or development of new products
Collaborate and work efficiently with groups including but not limited to R&D, quality, production, external vendors or customers, etc
Learn and follow Lean Philosophy 5S behaviors in creating a continuously improving, clean, well-organized and self-maintaining work environment
Comply with company ethics, code of conduct, policies, and best practices, with a commitment to safety in the workplace, valuing of diversity, and promotion of a harassment-free environment
Ability to follow testing protocols and design SOPs which may include editing and creation of experimental testing protocols when necessary
Organize and prioritize workload effectively
Exhibit excellent documentation practices
Analyze data and communicate technical information to internal teams in the form of oral and written correspondence, presentations, and reports
Comply with all safety and regulatory standards
Application of the Mesa Labs Quality Policy and actively monitor quality of outcomes in the performance of all assigned tasks
Perform other duties as assigned by management

Required

Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in biology, microbiology, biological engineering, chemical engineering or a related field
Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
Student must be a quick learner who is able to work as part of a team, but is also driven and capable of working independently
Ability to follow testing protocols and design SOPs which may include editing and creation of experimental testing protocols when necessary
Organize and prioritize workload effectively
Exhibit excellent documentation practices

Preferred

Any experience with GMP, medical devices, sterilization, endospores, is nice to have, but not necessary
