Construction Project Engineer - Industrial Construction

Responsibilities
Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications
Inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures
Take corrective actions as needed to resolve field issues
Review subordinates’ work for compliance with contract documents; address deficiencies and implement corrective measures
Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software
Collaborate with project management personnel to gather input and ensure schedule accuracy
Manage document control processes including logging and tracking new issue drawings and contract documents
Review new issue drawings for changes in conditions; quantify impacts and communicate with supervisor
Distribute updated documents to field teams and ensure proper implementation
Prepare monthly cost projections using data from project management systems
Develop quarterly cash flow projections to support financial planning
Recommend improvements to project operations including staffing, methods, and procedures
Serve as managing project engineer/coordinator across multiple projects
Provide supervision and on-the-job training for junior engineers and project staff
Support and manage the project team, including direct reports and cross-functional personnel
Promote and enforce company environmental health and safety programs at the project level
Foster a safety-oriented culture across all project activities
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent
5–10+ years of experience in construction or engineering
Proven experience managing engineers and project teams
Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies in engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
Working knowledge of project controls terminology and scheduling practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook
Regular, reliable attendance
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required
