Worker's Compensation Coordinator
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is recruiting for a Worker’s Compensation Coordinator to implement and manage the DNR Workers Compensation Program and related initiatives. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure compliance with laws and regulations while providing support for employee return-to-work processes.

Responsibilities
Implement, promote, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the DNR Workers Compensation Program, Hazardous Duty Pay (HDP), Medical Monitoring and Commercial Driver’s License program
Serve as the workers compensation coordinator and liaison between the DNR and the Department of Administration (DOA) Bureau of State Risk Management
Collaborate with Region-3 Human Resources regarding employee return to work, work restrictions, reasonable accommodations, potential medical separation and applicable State and Federal laws and regulations
Manage HDP benefits under Wis. Stats 230.36 for employee’s department wide
Serve as a witness for arbitration hearings on denied hazardous duty pay benefits
Collaborate with region 3 Labor Relations relative to denied hazardous duty pay benefit grievances
Function independently in presenting and/or coordinating workers compensation, hazardous duty pay, medical monitoring and commercial driver’s license
Qualification
Required
Experience processing Workers Compensation claims (answering employee questions, explaining benefits, providing guidance on claims process, etc.)
Experience using Excel and Access (or similar programs) to organize information, analyze trends, and/or support data-driven decision making
Experience providing customer service (i.e., answering calls, responding to emails, greeting customers, addressing customer concerns, connecting customers to appropriate resources)
Experience providing training to internal and/or external stakeholders
Preferred
Training or experience administering Hazardous Duty Pay (HDP) benefits in Wisconsin (determining eligibility, monitor for compliance with policies, ensure employees are receiving full pay, etc.)
Training or experience administering Commercial Driver's License (CDL) programs including Random Drug/Alcohol Testing (coordinating required tests, training supervisors on the program, managing relationships with third party administrators, record administration, policy development, reporting to the federal clearinghouse, etc.)
Training or experience in Safety, Risk Management, OSHA, Occupational Health or other safety related duties (Employee accident reporting, loss control, property and liability, incident investigation, etc.)
