Responsibilities
Electrical testing of nuclear components in accordance with their respective test procedure
Performing alignment and alignment checks of Nuclear Instrumentation and Detectors
Performing the duties of 'Safety Technician' to ensure that systems are properly tagged out, isolated, and de-energized for safe work
Understanding electrical system diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and performing troubleshooting as required
Complying with the EB Safety Manual, technical manuals, and department instructions when working on energized equipment
Heavy lifting, crawling, and working in tight, confined spaces as required
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED equivalent or 2+ years related technical experience
At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, electronics, or electrical assembly, installation and repair
Per union agreement, candidates are required to be available for all shifts
Candidates must be able to understand electrical system diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and be able to perform troubleshooting in accordance with Test Engineer/Shift Test Engineer documentation when required
The selected individual must understand the requirements and comply with the EB Safety Manual, various technical manuals, and applicable department instructions when working on energized equipment
Some heavy lifting is required along with crawling and working in tight, confined spaces
The applicant must be medically able and willing to qualify as a Contamination Worker to obtain and maintain dosimetry
The individual must be able to pass all required trade training qualifications
Preferred
Post High School Trade School diploma
Previous U.S. Navy or Nuclear Test Operations experience or shipboard testing with electrical systems
Candidates should be able to read & work from electrical system diagrams, blue prints and schematics
