Responsibilities

Lead the execution of assigned objectives that develop aerospace structures and subsystems
Own the technical roadmap, risk assessments, and trade off studies for assigned objectives
Mentor junior staff; collaborate to provide constructive guidance on best practices, design methodologies, verification strategies, CDRL development, and results feedback
Drive the execution of aerospace structures and subsystem development objectives, ensuring on time delivery, compliance with specs, and performance optimization
Leverage elementary analysis as a screening tool for design concepts, reserving detailed expert review for analysts
Design and integration of Multiphysics systems (electrical, thermal, fluids, mechanical) into aerospace platforms; systems may have dynamic components
Partner with analysts to refine designs, delivering a minimum viable product that meets performance and cost targets within schedule
Create and maintain high fidelity CAD models (CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks) using an integrated modeling approach
Generate technical drawings of variable scope and complexity that adhere to ASME standards (Single part, Inseparable Assembly, Separable Assembly, Composite, Machined, Welded, Cables, etc)
Author and/or review technical documentation, specifications, test plans, analysis reports, and CDRL deliverables
Ability to derive requirements from voice of customer and high-level objectives
Assist managers to define scope, schedule, cost baselines, and CDRL delivery schedules
Interface with customers and program managers to ensure technical alignment, documentation accuracy, and schedule adherence
Participate in programmatic external reviews (MRR, IDR, FDR, CDR)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal/external stakeholders; may lead integrated product teams
Prepare and present technical documentation, including design reviews, analysis reports, and compliance matrices to stakeholders
Leverage emerging technologies and methods to be a force multiplier (AI assistance, cad-based PMI, etc.)
When warranted, identify opportunities for tool and process improvements, re-evaluations, adoption of new standards, and cost reductions that have a significant impact on schedule, qualitative outcomes and financial performance
Executes root cause analysis and develops corrective actions
