Senior Frontend Engineer

They are seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to lead the development of a Reporting Portal that supports grant management for over 150,000 recipients, focusing on building intuitive and data-rich digital experiences.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of a high-concurrency, responsive interface using React.js to handle complex "drill-down" navigation and real-time status tracking
Develop a robust evidence-upload system supporting multi-format files (PDF, JPEG, etc.), implementing in-browser rendering and real-time validation logic
Translate Figma mockups into production code that simplifies large datasets, pulling directly from a Data Translation Bridge (DTB) to ensure "truth-in-data."
Implement enterprise-grade identity management, including MFA/2FA, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and ensuring all components align with Section 508 accessibility standards (WCAG)
Work in lockstep with backend and infrastructure engineers to integrate with API management layers, event streaming, and analytics data stores
Participate in sprint planning and architectural decisions, presenting technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical team members
Lead by example by crafting maintainable code and mentoring engineering talent on your project team as the product scales
Optimize browser performance for high-volume list management, including advanced filtering, search, and pagination
Use analytics and user feedback to refine interface patterns and micro-interactions that enhance clarity for grant recipients
Maintain high-quality production code within a GitLab Enterprise and Terraform-based pipeline

Required

4-7 years of professional experience building modern web applications, ideally with experience taking a product from prototype to production 'v1.'
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React.js. Experience with Node.js/Express for frontend pipelines is highly preferred
Familiarity interfacing with AWS Commercial Cloud environments (S3, EKS, RDS) and modern authentication protocols (OAuth 2.1 / OIDC)
Deep understanding of accessibility standards, responsive layouts, and browser performance optimization

Working knowledge of systems and websites such as Microsoft, SharePoint, Adobe, Google Chrome, SAM.gov, CPARS, FPDS-NG, GSA eBuy/GSA Advantage, SBA.gov
Proven ability to provide leadership, technical direction, and mentorship to junior staff
Strong time management, writing, and communication skills
Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and standardize enterprise requirements
Expertise in refining source selection criteria and solving complex contracting issues
Experience in cost analysis, gap analysis, and healthcare-related acquisition support
Ability to prepare compliant procurement packages in line with federal and state laws

Preferred

Previous experience building and scaling products in an early-stage or high-growth startup context
Experience integrating machine learning workflows, automated analysis feedback loops, or complex data pipelines into applications
Familiarity with Terraform, HashiCorp Vault, or serverless querying (e.g., AWS Athena)
Experience in civic-tech or large-scale consulting environments
