Electrical Engineering Analyst

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is searching for an Electrical Engineering Analyst for a contract assignment with one of their premier Management Consulting clients in Chicago, IL. The role involves evaluating and driving client growth and sustainability opportunities, working closely with client stakeholders, and conducting analyses including reverse engineering and product cost modeling.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and drive client growth and sustainability opportunities
Guide the creation of clients' current and future portfolio
Drive productivity and innovation across various functions including engineering, procurement, and product management
Work in teams of 2 – 3 other analysts and experts
Collaborate with other consultants responsible for the diagnosis, analysis, and implementation of business initiatives
Establish buy-in and grow client capabilities with stakeholders
Conduct reverse engineering of products and services
Determine critical product or materials specifications and feature/attribute comparisons
Perform product cost modeling for design and procurement outcomes
Gain exposure across several industries and clients including consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, global energy and materials, light/heavy industrial, and medical
Work with the firm's Design Labs as part of the Operations practice to solve complex operational challenges
Develop and implement operational strategies that solve clients' critical problems
Deliver impact across several product development and procurement levers including product matrix optimization, complexity reduction, design for manufacturing/assembly, and commercial excellence

Required

A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or analogous technical degree required
Strong record of academic performance
Knowledge and experience with PCBA design and manufacture including high-frequency PCB design, signal integrity and EMC/EMI considerations, IC functionality, etc, knowledge of wiring systems, power transmission distribution considered a plus
Familiarity with Altium, OrCAD, Eagle
Proficient communicator, capable of working in multinational environments, self-motivated
Willingness/ability to travel, if needed
Ability to impact individually or as a collaborative member of a team, capable of working well with others but also autonomously with little direction
Experience in starting projects, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in the face of ambiguity
Highly organized and detail-oriented individual
Excellent presentation skills with a focus on communicating complex ideas clearly
Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to analyze and synthesize data

Preferred

Top programs preferred (E.g., MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Cal Tech, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, etc)
2+ years of electrical design and manufacturing experience in roles such as R&D, testing and systems integration preferred. Tier 1 and 2 automotive companies
NCEES certificate in the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or professional engineer (PE) in electrical engineering preferred
Familiarity with AutoCAD considered a plus
