NUTANIX ENGINEER

CriticalTilt, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutanix Engineer for a long-term professional services engagement to deploy, administer, and optimize Client Nutanix environments. The role involves supporting IT modernization projects and acting as a subject-matter expert on the Client’s site, focusing on high performance and reliability of Nutanix environments.

Responsibilities

Support and troubleshoot virtualization issues, employing best practices in solution delivery
Development and automation of processes through scripting and integration with standard frameworks
Creation and presentation of comprehensive deployment and sustainment plans and project reports to stakeholders
Act as a trusted advisor, offering insights on architectural improvements and operational efficiencies
Collaborate with technical teams to identify opportunities to enhance service delivery
Conduct regular status updates and project briefings to ensure transparency and alignment with Client objectives
Participate in service delivery and working with the Client’s IT team and be recognized as a leading member for Nutanix product implementation, operation and administration
Clarify and comprehend the Client’s short- and long-term IT objectives and align yourself with your day-to-day activities
Leverage extensive knowledge of Nutanix products and features to assist Client’s to plan strategic implementations and/or operations support for their Nutanix environment
Be responsible for delivering Nutanix Implementations and/or virtual infrastructure operations support
Work collaboratively with Client architects/SMEs to blend Nutanix best practices to accelerate the adoption and expansion of their Nutanix environment
Be proactive and actively assume, assess, and identify possible areas of improvement in the Client’s IT environment
Collaborates in identifying and communicating new opportunities and ongoing Client status and reporting
The individual in the role will be formally trained by Nutanix during this engagement, requiring sufficient preparation and eventual certification on the Nutanix platform and solutions to support the Client’s implementation

Required

Sound experience of a minimum of 5 years in an IT enterprise environment
A minimum of 3 years of experience with Virtualized IT environments
Knowledge of Nutanix AOS/AHV hyper-converged platforms
Able to independently analyze and diagnose highly complex problems across different platforms
Experience and comfort in troubleshooting and handling escalations
Participate in planning and hands-on execution of: Deployment, installation, and configuration of Nutanix core products, SW/FW Upgrades and patching, VM lifecycle Management (creation, deletion, cloning, snapshot etc.), V2V and P2V Migrations, Capacity planning & reporting, DR planning, setting, restoration, Participating in the planning and execution of DR drills
Strong ability for documentation, presentation, business meeting organizing & facilitation with post-action management
Client-centric approach, excellent verbal and written communication skills with proactiveness that leads to outstanding business relationships
Fluent in reading and writing of English language
Applicants must hold an active Top-Secret clearance

Preferred

Nutanix Certified Professional - Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI)
Nutanix Certified Services Core (NCS-CORE) - Must obtain immediately upon hire and prior to commencement of engagement if not already certified
CompTIA Security+, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or similar credentials
Knowledge of VMware ESXi or other converged or hyper-converged platforms
Experience in professional services consulting and IT infrastructure operations support is preferred
Exposure to the following technologies and concepts: Cloud Native Technologies, Kubernetes (K8S), Databases (General), System automation solutions (Ansible, Terraform, etc)
Other relevant industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VCAP, VCIX, CCNA, CCIA and RHCE are preferred
Bachelor's degree or diploma is desired (i.e., in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems)
