They are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for maintaining and repairing physical buildings, structures, and equipment, as well as performing a variety of skilled trades related to facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities

Carry out those activities required to maintain and correct damage and make repairs to physical buildings, structures, and facilities
Maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and cleaning equipment of assigned facilities
Do a variety of work involving equipment use such as scissor lifts
Regularly work from ladders
May also be responsible for some minor electrical repair work
Support the ACS facility in Fairbanks, AK
Roving duties to support other Alaska ACS facilities
Work with a variety of skilled trades and/or skill sets in all aspects of Facilities Maintenance
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance duties required in the construction skills trades, on facilities, HVAC, generators, and other assets associated to each facility
Perform repairs on various Client facilities per manufacturer recommendations and industry standards
Perform interior and exterior painting using a variety of paint and applications
Modify and repair interior/exterior walls systems, roof systems, floor coverings, windows and window coverings
Repair overhead doors, personnel doors and hardware pertaining to said doors
Monitor security systems as needed/requested by client
Make repairs to chain link and/or security fencing, parking lots, sidewalks, private drives, building grounds
Perform minor electrical work such as lighting lamp change outs
May replace ballast as needed depending on voltage
Test and repair various systems and equipment using meters, schematics, drawings and manuals
Perform ergonomic changes to modular furniture and any office furniture as needed per client request
Perform augmentation of winter snow removal for multiple buildings throughout Central District
Perform locksmith duties as needed or required per client and manager
Clean work area, tools, and equipment
Regular day shift, M-F but position may involve night or weekend work on an as needed basis
Escort and/or assist other Subcontractors/Facilities Techs, regardless of skill set/trade
May require approximately 25 to 35% travel out of Anchorage area to remote sites
May be required to travel within hours of client request to any site throughout the State of Alaska
Must be willing and able to fly on small aircraft to said remote sites
Must be able to work well with others as directed and be a team player
Able to work independently and prioritize workload
Must be able and have some experience to assume a Supervisory role and/or job site Lead technician
Must have the ability to instruct others as a lead technician in a professional manner
Other related duties may also be assigned or required

Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Three (3) years of directly related facilities and/or building maintenance experience
A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy
