Automation Developer
Leidos is tackling critical challenges in national security and network modernization, and they are seeking a Junior Automation Developer to join their automation team. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying automation solutions to improve operational efficiency across various business processes.

Responsibilities
Work on real-world automation problems where solutions eliminate repetitive manual work and improve operational efficiency
Develop, maintain, and enhance RPA workflows under the guidance of senior automation engineers
Build supporting automation components using Python, scripting, APIs, and low-code platforms such as Power Automate
Assist in designing end-to-end automation solutions that may combine RPA, scripts, services, and workflow tools
Participate in agile development cycles, incorporating stakeholder feedback and delivering incremental value
Track work and progress using Jira or Azure DevOps
Attend stakeholder meetings to gather requirements, clarify processes, and demonstrate automation solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure automations align with user needs, security, and compliance standards
Work within secure environments, ensuring solutions meet GovCloud, cybersecurity, and Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements
Contribute to documentation for automation workflows, development standards, and operational handoff
Qualification
Required
BS degree and 4+ years of combined experience in automation development, software development, or a related technical role
Hands-on experience with RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or similar)
Experience or strong interest in Python, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.), or general-purpose programming
Exposure to UiPath, Power Automate or other workflow / low-code automation platforms
Familiarity with integrating systems using APIs, files, or databases
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate manual processes into automated solutions
Comfortable learning new tools and working in environments with evolving requirements
Ability to obtain and keep a Secret Security Clearance
Preferred
Experience working in government, DoD, or other regulated or secure environments
Exposure to intelligent automation concepts, such as AI-assisted automation, document processing, or chat-based tools
Basic understanding of software development best practices (version control, testing, documentation)
Experience supporting or maintaining production automations
Curiosity about emerging automation technologies and continuous improvement
