Customer Service Specialist II - Human Services
Forsyth County is seeking a Customer Service Specialist II to join their Human Services Team. This role involves providing administrative support and assisting citizens with inquiries, ensuring a professional response to public assistance matters.

Responsibilities
Provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Services Team
Answers telephone calls and directs them accordingly
Receives requests for information
Assists citizens with inquiries in person, online, or by phone
Resolves citizens' questions and problems
Screens applicants to assist in determining eligibility for public assistance; evaluates income, family status, and related information
Drafts, proofreads and processes letters, reports and documents for case managers and supervisors signatures
Sets up and maintains files in an acceptable manner
Processes records, worksheets, logs and applications for services along with other correspondence
Establishes and maintains files and records
Obtains information necessary to prepare files and complete necessary forms
Performs data retrieval and entry into a software application
Updates information in the computer
Updates the county website as well as social media platforms
Coordinates the calendar for the Collaboration Station and keeps track of its usage
Generates reports from the computer
Performs related work as required
Upon Emergency Operations Center activation, employees must be prepared to work additional hours and job duties
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
One year (1) experience in customer service duties involving frequent public contact as well as performing clerical duties
Experience in the operation of a personal computer required
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication
Knowledge of standard office methods and procedures of Social Welfare work
Ability to file, prepare reports and correspondence
Ability to manage social media websites
Ability to actively listen to citizens needs and clearly express oneself on various public assistance matters
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public
Ability to communicate effectively via telephone, in person, in writing or on-line
Ability to make decisions and work without close supervision
Ability to operate a personal computer and other office equipment
Ability to establish and maintain files accurately and legibly
Ability to handle crisis management
Preferred
Experience in handling crisis management is strongly preferred
Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
