Data Center Engineering Operations Technician Internship

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) intern technicians for a 6-month internship program at their Northern Virginia facilities. Interns will assist in maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment, support troubleshooting efforts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment across data center infrastructure
Support root cause analysis for equipment performance and potential failures
Participate in troubleshooting facility and rack-level operational events
Record and analyze daily operational readings and metrics
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure engineering initiatives

Required

High School diploma or equivalent
Experience working with computers and Microsoft Office products (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Must be 18 years of age or older
Currently enrolled in a Data Center Operations Certificate/Associate Degree program at Northern Virginia Community College with an expected graduation date of Summer 2026

Preferred

Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education
Classes or experience with electrical or mechanical fundamentals including HVAC, electrical, etc
Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
Meets exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity
