Responsibilities

Skilled mechanical and supervisory work in charge of the operation and maintenance of heating, air conditioning, and other mechanical equipment in the buildings assigned
Incumbents must have knowledge in Utility Management systems as well as pneumatic controls
Assist in plant activities during emergencies such as fires, hurricanes, and power outages

Required

2nd Class Air Conditioning or Refrigeration License issued by the Board of Examiners of Operating Engineers of the City of New Orleans (Room 7E05, City Hall)
2nd Class Boiler's License issued by the Board of Examiners of Operating Engineers of the City of New Orleans (Room 7E05, City Hall)
Three (3) years of experience in power plant operations
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency Diploma
Current Louisiana driver's license. Applicants must be eligible for coverage under the airport's auto liability insurance policy
Knowledge in the operation of emergency generators and fire pumps
Candidates must pass a personal, criminal, and employment background check required under federal regulations
