Responsibilities
Drive Automation: Leverage scripting (Python) and API knowledge to automate repetitive, manual tasks. This will drastically reduce triage time, minimize human error, and free up the team to focus on proactive security measures
Reclaim Security Ownership: Enable the Security Operations team to take ownership of its core infrastructure, such as Palo Alto Prisma Access. This ensures security policy is implemented and managed by security experts
Mature Security Tooling: Go beyond basic configuration to actively tune and enhance our security platforms (Google Chronicle, Cyberhaven) by scripting custom detections and responding to specific IOCs
Enhance Cross-functional Value: Provide a resource that can assist and collaborate with the IT team to automate parts of their workflows, improving overall operational efficiency for the company
Qualification
Required
Foundational understanding of software engineering
Experience in security operations
Ability to execute specific projects aimed at improving detection and response capabilities
Strong automation mindset
Ability to identify and eliminate manual processes
Scripting knowledge, preferably Python
API knowledge to automate repetitive, manual tasks
Ability to enable the Security Operations team to take ownership of its core infrastructure
Ability to actively tune and enhance security platforms
Ability to collaborate with the IT team to automate parts of their workflows
Preferred
Foundational experience with a scripting language, preferably Python, for automating tasks and integrating systems
Basic understanding of how to work with REST APIs to connect security tools
Comfortable working in a terminal using shell, bash, etc., to analyze systems and tune security tools
A grasp of core concepts in security operations, incident response, and threat analysis
Prior experience with SIEM: Google Chronicle / Security Command Center
Prior experience with DLP: Cyberhaven
Prior experience with Network: Palo Alto Prisma Access
Prior experience with Identity: Okta, SailPoint
