Responsibilities

Oversee the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, virtual environments, and frameworks to improve test performance, safety, and system durability throughout the product lifecycle
Lead the modernization of legacy fighter jet simulation software, ensuring compliance with current coding standards and best practices
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and review simulation requirements, understanding the dynamics of the systems being modeled
Manage the design, modeling, testing, and analysis processes to optimize system performance and capabilities
Supervise validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software, including executing test procedures, documenting results, and benchmarking against real-world data
Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical code, algorithms, and simulation models to ensure clarity and reproducibility
Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to facilitate the integration of simulation software with hardware systems and devices
Implement emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance the simulation environment and software capabilities
Lead efforts to update, migrate, and sustain simulation software to support new operating systems and hardware configurations
Advise management on best practices and innovations in software engineering and simulation environments, influencing internal standards and processes

Required

Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development using languages such as C++, Python, Ada, C, or Java
Substantial experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems

At least five years of leadership experience managing technical teams or projects
Excellent communication skills
Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields
Comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems
Software integration experience
Experience with modern development tools such as containers, build systems, and version control systems like Git
