The VLA Model Lead / Director / Senior Researcher / Engineer will own the end-to-end lifecycle of multimodal policy models, driving VLA systems from frontier research into production-grade embodied intelligence.

Responsibilities
Lead design, training, optimization, and deployment of VLA models
Build multimodal perception → action pipelines for robotic systems
Improve generalization, stability, and long-horizon performance
Adapt frameworks such as OpenVLA, RT-1, RT-1B, and related models
Apply cutting-edge embodied AI and multimodal research
Explore new methods for robustness, generalization, and real-world deployment
Integrate RL (PPO, SAC, DQN), imitation learning (BC, IRL), and foundation models
Design multimodal data pipelines
Lead distributed training across multi-node GPU clusters
Optimize scaling, efficiency, and reproducibility
Deploy models to real robotic systems
Optimize edge and on-robot inference
Integrate with perception, planning, and control stacks
Drive architecture direction and technical roadmap
Contribute to patents and top-tier publications (CVPR, ICRA, NeurIPS)
Mentor engineers and researchers
Qualification
Required
MS or PhD in CS, AI, Robotics, or related field
Strong PyTorch or TensorFlow experience
Deep knowledge of Transformers, diffusion, and multimodal training
Strong math foundation (optimization, probability, linear algebra)
Experience adapting foundation models to real-world tasks
Preferred
Publications in CVPR, NeurIPS, ICRA, IROS, ICML
Open-source contributions
Real-world robotics deployment experience
Experience working with RL or controls teams
