Responsibilities
Manage and execute multiple emergent and base capital projects at plant sites (up to 20+ concurrent projects)
Collaborate closely with operations and reliability engineering to develop project scopes, justifications, and funding requests
Coordinate all phases of project execution including planning, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, installation, and closeout
Prepare and maintain documentation such as scopes of work, technical specifications, budgets, and reports
Oversee contractors and vendors during field execution to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards
Lead daily project activities and attend POD meetings (daily operations planning sessions) to align on priorities
Support external engineering consultants as needed for specialized design or technical services
Utilize tools such as Microsoft Office, ProjectWise, SharePoint, and Excel for project tracking, documentation, and reporting
Uphold Xcel Energy’s engineering standards, safety policies, and capital project procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline)
2+ years of experience in project management, preferably within a power generation, industrial, or manufacturing environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel)
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and quality
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Initiative-driven and adaptable in fast-paced environments
Effective collaborator who can build relationships across teams and vendors
Analytical thinker with problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Preferred
Experience managing contractors and external engineering firms
Understanding of capital budgeting and cost control practices
Familiarity with ProjectWise or similar document management systems
Successful completion or intent to pursue the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam
