Junior Benefits and Leaves Specialist

biBerk Business Insurance is seeking a Junior Benefits and Leaves Specialist to join their Human Resources team. This role involves assisting with benefits administration, processing leave requests, and providing support to employees regarding their benefits. The position requires in-office work in Pittston, PA, and reports directly to the Benefits Manager.

Responsibilities

Assist with open enrollment, new hire enrollments, life status changes, terminations and day-to-day administration of our plans
Assist with the intake and processing of FMLA, disability, and personal leave requests, ensuring compliance with federal/state laws and company policies
Act as the first point of contact for benefits questions, providing clear, empathetic communication
Coordinate with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators to resolve employee benefit issues

Required

1–2 years of experience in HR, benefits, or leave administration
Basic understanding of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and ERISA regulations
Basic knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., Paylocity, Bswift) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
Excellent communication and organization skills required

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
