Responsibilities

Leads and participates in the installation, programming, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of assigned electronics systems
Utilizing original equipment manufacturer recommendations and historical records, develops, implements and manages a planned preventative maintenance system on assigned systems
Uses electronic test equipment, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to diagnose and repair electronic equipment and systems
Assists the Electronics Supervisor in budget planning and management related to electronics systems
Researches technical manuals, catalogs and industrial journals and requisitions components and hardware related to assigned systems
Replaces defective components, wiring and adjusts electronic parts to specifications using hand tools, special equipment and soldering irons
Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and specifications
Interacts with project designers and construction managers, actively participates in project management involving assigned electronics systems
Maintains historical records concerning additions, deletions, repairs, modifications and as-built conditions of assigned systems
May be required to work rotating shifts and/or respond during off-hours to emergency conditions involving assigned systems

Required

Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent
Four (4) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of Airport-related or industrial electronic systems and equipment
Formal training/certification in general electronics
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above
Must pass a medical physical examination
Must be able to work rotating shifts when required
Possession of a valid Class C driver's license
Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport's Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal
Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection (CBP) security access clearance within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for CBP security access clearance upon each CBP security access renewal
This is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport's Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position
This is a designated Essential Employee position as defined in DFW Airport's Categories and Classifications Administrative Policy and Procedure. An essential employee is one whose attendance is required to maintain airport operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation
Knowledge of the installation, maintenance, of electronics systems, including the use of management programs
Knowledge of the principles, practices and use of equipment, materials and methods of electronics installation. Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions associated with electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical trades, with specific knowledge of 120VAC and 220VAC equipment and devices
Skill in the use and care of assigned tools and equipment
Ability to lead assigned electronics technical staff and act independent of day-to-day supervision
Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions
Ability to be cross trained in different areas of electronics systems responsibilities
Ability to use personal computers and Microsoft Office software
Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and drawings
Ability to read, understand and apply detailed electronics-related technical specifications
Ability to maintain work records and to analyze and evaluate records for planning
Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious internal and external working relationships

Preferred

Two-year related technical degree
Previous experience in a leadership or technical role maintaining related airport electronics systems
