NRECA is a national trade association providing advocacy and support services to electric cooperatives. They are seeking an intern to research emerging technologies and industry trends, support data collection and analysis, and assist in developing member-facing materials.

Responsibilities

Research emerging technologies and industry trends impacting electric cooperatives (e.g., data centers, electric vehicles (EVs), DER, grid modernization)

Support data collection, benchmarking, and basic analysis for reports, presentations, and member resources

Assist with development of member-facing materials, including slide decks, briefs, and case studies

Track policy, regulatory, and market developments relevant to innovation in the energy sector

Required

Rising college junior or senior with a major in business administration, finance, environmental studies or related focus

3.0 GPA or higher (no academic or corrective action on record); transcripts must be provided

Use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) in the day-to-day tasks

Operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, or other job-related equipment

Learn new systems and processes and quickly incorporate them into the daily work

Apply good judgement related to escalating issues and requesting assistance

Organize and manage time effectively

Pay close attention to detail and review work for quality

Team player with good interpersonal and relationship building skills

Strong communication skills orally and in writing

Ability to focus on data collection

Knowledge of organized electric markets

Preferred

Interest in electric cooperatives

Experience with electric utilities
