Benefit Plan Manager
Kroger is a leading company in the retail sector, and they are seeking a Benefit Plan Manager to manage and administer employee benefit plans. The role involves overseeing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with federal laws, and collaborating with various teams to align benefit strategies with business goals.

Responsibilities
Oversee assigned benefit plan vendor relationships, including vendor performance, account management, review meetings and onsite visits
Understand the utilization/financial analysis of assigned benefit plans, recommending strategies to address trends; review rates/renewals and performance guarantee arrangements/results with benefit plan analyst
Partner with Health Benefits lead to implement assigned benefit plan changes for company-sponsored benefit groups
Partner with Labor Relations team on healthcare benefits for union-represented associates in company-sponsored healthcare benefit plans, including implementation, administration, and communication
Partner with Associate Communications team and other benefits plan team members to develop, implement and manage assigned benefit plan communication materials, including internal and external communications
Ensure compliance of federal laws to include, but not limited to Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and Internal Revenue Code applicable to assigned benefit plans
Understand the laws and their impact to the plans working closely with internal and external legal counsel to develop required notices, plan amendments, plan documents and other required documentation
Work with division HR teams and Total Rewards managers, and leave specialist to administer assigned benefit plans
Travel to conferences and vendor facilities for meetings, as needed
Conduct required year-end processes of assigned benefit plans
Partner with Legal to file requests for additional registered shares with the SEC as needed

Qualification
Required
Any proven management/leadership experience
3+ years of experience in the administration of employee benefit plans
Excellent analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills
Strong ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
Independent decision-making abilities
Excellent follow-up and follow through skills
Excellent attention to detail
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years previous benefits administration specifically in assigned benefit plans
