Responsibilities
Lead large, complex software projects and/or technical initiatives; break down work for, and provide guidance to, more junior engineer contributors
Collaborate directly with internal stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) to uncover requirements, ensuring continuous clear communication
Provide updated estimates regarding ongoing work, and suggest deadline or scope changes as appropriate
Build and maintain observability tooling and helpful documentation
Triage and prioritize incoming requests and internal bug reports
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in software development
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
Experience building scalable, production-ready applications
Experience successfully leading large, complex projects and technical initiatives from discovery to completion
Strong technical leadership skills; proven track record of taking initiative to improve processes and the codebase. Champion of industry best practices, ownership, and accountability
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and both to technical and non-technical audiences
Technical experience with backend languages and frameworks, such as: Python: Django/FastAPI/Flask
Technical experience with various data storage solutions, such as: MySql/Postgres, MongoDB
Technical experience with cloud technologies, observability tooling, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code
Preferred
Familiarity with ShapeUp software development methodology
Frontend experience, especially with JavaScript: ReactJS/TypeScript
Experience working in high-performing SaaS companies
Experience with mentorship
Experience working with third-party authentication providers, especially with Okta
