Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, CAD files, and specifications to determine cutting requirements
Program CNC waterjet machines (experience with Flow, OMAX, or similar software preferred) using CAD/CAM systems
Set up and operate waterjet cutting equipment, including loading/unloading materials, selecting proper nozzles, abrasives (garnet), and cutting parameters
Monitor machine operations during cutting to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency
Perform basic preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning of the waterjet system
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify conformance to specifications
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Collaborate with engineering, machining, and quality teams to resolve any issues and optimize processes
Document production data, job notes, and quality records as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in machining or related field preferred
2+ years of proven experience programming and operating CNC waterjet machines (abrasive waterjet experience strongly preferred)
Proficiency in waterjet programming software (e.g., FlowPath/FlowCut, OMAX Make/LAYOUT, or similar)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Experience working with a variety of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, titanium, composites, etc.) is a plus
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Commitment to safety protocols and quality standards
Aerospace or tool/die shop experience is highly desirable
Must be able to pass a background check (ITAR-related work)
Preferred
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks)
Experience in a manufacturing environment with ISO/AS9100 quality systems
Basic CNC machining knowledge (milling, turning) as a plus
