US Treasury E Trading Development Lead Engineer (FICC)

This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance electronic trading systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and enhancing trading capabilities.

Responsibilities

Provide technical direction and mentorship to the development team, ensuring best practices in software design, coding standards, and architectural decisions
Hands-on development to contribute directly to the pipeline as well as iterating on POC and rapid development
Oversee the end-to-end delivery of robust, scalable, and low latency eTrading solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements
Work closely with traders, business analysts, product owners, and other technology teams to gather requirements, clarify objectives, and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
Drive a culture of code excellence through regular code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration, ensuring maintainability and reliability
Identify and implement opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies
Ensure all solutions comply with internal risk management policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements
Lead the resolution of high-impact production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurrence
Contribute to project planning, estimation, and resource allocation to ensure timely and successful delivery of initiatives

Required

Java (Core & Advanced including multi-threading, collections, and concurrency)
Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting electronic fixed-income (E-FI) trading platforms
Familiarity with FIX protocol, MQ, JMS, or similar messaging solutions
Experience with RESTful and/or SOAP web services
Understanding techniques for minimizing latency in trading applications
Proficiency with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and related technologies
Strong SQL skills; experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL solutions
Understanding of distributed computing concepts and technologies (e.g., microservices, caching, clustering)
Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing tools
Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, Git)
Solid understanding of Rates products, trading lifecycle, and market conventions
Knowledge of order routing, execution, and trade booking flows
Familiarity with pre-trade and post-trade risk controls in electronic trading
Ability to collaborate with traders, business analysts, and other developers
Experience in Agile/Scrum teams
