Responsibilities
Design, test, and refine pharmaceutical formulations in a controlled laboratory setting
Conduct hands-on compounding to evaluate formulation viability, stability, and efficacy
Serve as the bridge between conceptual drug development and operational production
Prepare comprehensive reports analyzing formulation successes and failures
Document research findings, methodologies, and recommendations with precision
Maintain detailed records in compliance with pharmaceutical R&D standards
Present findings to stakeholders clearly and effectively
Submit validated formulations to sterile and non-sterile compounding teams for operational implementation
Coordinate lab usage and scheduling with production teams
Partner with leadership to prioritize development projects aligned with business objectives
Manage significant R&D documentation and regulatory paperwork
Maintain organized laboratory records and research files
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards
Qualification
Required
Hands-on compounding experience in a pharmacy or laboratory setting
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for data management and reporting
Proven experience presenting findings and data to teams or stakeholders
Self-starter with exceptional time management and the ability to work independently
Strong communication and leadership skills to collaborate across departments
Ability to execute formulation protocols with minimal supervision
Preferred
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential
Experience with PK (pharmacokinetics) software or similar analytical tools
Sterile compounding certification (e.g., USP 797)
Background in pharmaceutical research, formulation science, or product development
Experience in a compounding pharmacy or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
