QA Technician - 2nd Shift

They are seeking a self-driven Quality Assurance Technician to support their production facility by ensuring product quality and compliance with industry standards. The role involves inspecting and testing products, managing raw materials, and supporting audits to maintain high quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Inspect, verify, sample, weigh and test product for defects
Receive in and release raw materials
Send out samples for testing and release finished product
Discard or reject product not meeting specifications
Observe and monitor production operations to ensure conformance and adjust if necessary
Work with the plant to comply with customer requirements and maintain high industry standards
Complete allergen testing and paperwork to ensure compliance
Monitor critical control points (CCP’s) multiple times daily
Support all required customer audits, safe quality food (SQF) audits, third party audits and internal audits
Maintain pre-operation inspection procedures
Responsible for daily and monthly audits performed inside and outside the building
Label proofreading; paying special attention to detail
Comply with GMP, personal hygiene, HACCP and other quality and employee safety programs
Other duties as assigned by manager

Required

Self-driven and well organized Quality Assurance Technician
Ability to exercise decision making skills and time management with little supervision
Inspect, verify, sample, weigh and test product for defects
Receive in and release raw materials
Send out samples for testing and release finished product
Discard or reject product not meeting specifications
Observe and monitor production operations to ensure conformance and adjust if necessary
Work with the plant to comply with customer requirements and maintain high industry standards

Basic math skills required
Prior Quality Assurance experience required
Attention to detail
Physical requirements include lifting to 60 lbs., bending, standing, climbing and walking throughout the production area
Ability to transition between production and office environment
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate and interact when working with cross-functional teams
Ability to take initiative and work independently

Preferred

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly preferred
Prior work experience in food manufacturing with HACCP, GMPs and food safety programs is preferred
