Architect (Life Insurance Solutions)

Responsibilities
Design and implement advanced software solutions, enabling loosely coupled enterprise-scale components across the teams
Collaborate with enterprise architects and business stakeholders to define a vision and roadmap for solution modernization, experimentation, and governance aligned to strategic outcomes
Lead the development and identification of use cases and PoCs, as well as prioritize maintenance and automation opportunities
Establish and uphold standards for software quality, stewardship, ethical AI practices, and secure solution deployment while promoting regulatory compliance and trust
Coach engineers and analysts in feature engineering, AI use and development, and asking why a lot
Integrate solutions with microservices, event-based architectures, and external business partners, ensuring scalability, observability, and operational readiness
Qualification
Required
5+ years' of experience in leading software architecture initiatives, including cloud-native platforms, software development lifecycle management, governance, and CI/CD
Proficiency in Python, Java/.NET, RDBMS, and event-based cloud technologies (AWS preferred), with experience deploying and maintaining APIs
Experience in prototyping, experimentation, refining scope, and scripting/automation to build, test, and maintain software solutions
Strong and mature understanding of, and commitment to, software engineering and architecture principles and governance
Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret data, manage risk, and provide sound, innovative recommendations
Advocacy for change and bias for action toward results as a trusted advisor
You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do
Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico
Preferred
TOGAF Certified
Insurance industry experience
Experience with AWS - S3, Bedrock, SageMaker, EC2, Connect, CDK, SDK, etc.)
Practical familiarity with autonomous AI systems
Participation in industry groups and/or communities of practice
