Responsibilities
Maintain, enhance, and support Oracle database applications used for life insurance financial and valuation reporting
Design and implement database enhancements for new and existing insurance products
Support monthly data warehouse loads, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
Develop and maintain automation for financial and actuarial reporting processes
Build control processes to ensure data quality and reporting integrity
Produce standard, automated, and ad hoc financial and actuarial reports
Translate complex business and actuarial requirements into technical specifications and database solutions
Provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support for Oracle-based financial systems
Collaborate with Actuarial, Finance, and Technology partners to deliver reliable reporting solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 2+ years in database application development or database administration
2+ years of hands-on Oracle experience, including SQL and PL/SQL
2+ years of Linux experience, including shell scripting
2+ years of experience using TOAD
Strong experience with SQLPlus and SQLLoader
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus to address critical system needs
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience with job scheduling tools
Knowledge of MS Access and/or Python
Business knowledge of life insurance products
Prior experience supporting financial or actuarial reporting systems
