Responsibilities
VMware Infrastructure Management: Design, install, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server
Security & Compliance: Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, security, and performance; implement and maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies. Demonstrate the ability to manage, execute, and maintain system compliance through STIG implementation, SCAP scanning, and ACAS/Nessus vulnerability management
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and infrastructure maps
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT staff and business units to understand needs and implement solutions that meet organizational objectives
Window System Administration: Install, configure, secure, and maintain windows operating systems (Windows 11) in both virtual and physical environments
Server Administration: Install, configure, secure, and maintain server operating system (Server 2022 and 2025) in both virtual and physical environments
Linux System Administration: Install, configure, secure, and maintain Linux operating systems (Red Hat) in both virtual and physical environments
Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerCLI, Ansible Playbook) to streamline routine administrative tasks, deployments, and reporting
Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 3/4 support to quickly diagnose and resolve complex system and virtual/physical system performance issues, system configuration problems, and outages
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or other STEM field (or equivalent full-time professional experience)
7+ years of full-time professional experience
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time as needed
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V)
Familiarity with network management, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls
Proficiency with backup and disaster recovery solutions
Solid experience with PowerShell or Bash scripting for automation
All applicants must currently possess an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance
This is an on-site position. Requiring at least 5 days in office, based out of our Arlington, VA location

Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation and collaboration with technical and non-technical staff
Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and learning new technologies
Demonstrated experience managing enterprise environments using PDQ Deploy or Tanium
