Thermal Packaging Engineer
EFP, LLC. is seeking a Thermal Packaging Engineer to support the design, testing, and commercialization of cold chain packaging systems. This role combines hands-on laboratory work with structured product development to deliver solutions that perform reliably in demanding real-world shipping environments.

Responsibilities
Design and execute thermal test plans for cold chain packaging systems, including EPS, EPP, PUR, VIP, fiber insulation, gel and PCM refrigerants, and dry ice configurations
Run standardized and customer-specific test profiles, including ambient, seasonal, and lane-based profiles
Perform packaging pack-outs and maintain build documentation and test records
Analyze thermal performance data and translate results into design improvements
Support product development from requirements and feasibility through verification, validation, and product release
Prepare technical reports and performance summaries
Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain Teams
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related engineering field
3+ years of experience in thermal packaging, cold chain packaging, or package performance testing
Experience with thermocouples, data loggers, and thermal chambers
Strong technical writing and analytical skills
Preferred
Experience with ISTA-style thermal qualification, cold chain materials, or manufacturing transfer
