Responsibilities

Assist with executing Bowers’ safety strategy and zero-accident culture on assigned projects
Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA, client/owner and company safety policies
Implement the General Contractors safety program and ensure adherence to established industry standards
Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and field observations
Assist and/or lead with incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions
Participate in safety audits and compliance inspections
Track and report safety observations, trends, and corrective actions
Reinforce a behavior-based safety culture across field crews

Required

OSHA30 for construction
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to walk long distances, stand for extended periods of time and traverse different types of terrain and elevations
Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Ability to lift up to 50lbs from different levels

Preferred

2+ years of commercial construction safety experience
Formal safety training, including OSHA 500 in construction and competency in scaffolding, crane management, steel erection, emergency response, fall management, excavation and confined space, rigging, hazardous waste
Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field
