Staff Development Training Specialist Academy for Excellence in Corrections
The State of Missouri's Department of Corrections is seeking a Staff Development Training Specialist to supervise Academy Advisors and oversee various operational areas. The role involves directing the research, development, and delivery of training programs to enhance the skills of employees within the corrections system.

Responsibilities
Supervising the Academy Advisors as well as supervising areas to include but not limited to meals, laundry services, evening activities and security
Directs all phases of research/development/delivery of training programs for employees; consults with agency leaders and work teams to determine present and/or future organizational/individual development needs; provides consultative/technical support to agency personnel regarding the planning/scheduling/ delivery of training programs
Researches/develops/implements training materials; writes and develops training curriculums; produces/ develops/evaluates/acquires audio-visual aids and computer-based software for use in training programs; evaluates training effectiveness; recommends/determines revisions; implements revisions to specific training programs; prepares reports on progress of assigned phases of training
Qualification
Required
Three or more years of experience as a Staff Development Trainer with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System
Six or more years of professional supervisory experience with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System
Six or more years of professional or technical experience in a business, governmental, or military setting, where the primary duties involved formal classroom training, training course design and development, and/or curriculum planning
Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university that includes earned credit hours in Education, Business or Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a closely related field, may substitute for up to four years of the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year – a minimum of two years of experience is required

$2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center)
$0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility
$1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility
Guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years
